In the glass, Château Canon opens with a rich bouquet of ripe black fruits—blackberry, blackcurrant, and sometimes a touch of morello cherry—enhanced by sweet spices, subtle woody notes, and nuances of leather or undergrowth after a few years.

On the palate, the body is ample and fleshy: the tannins are firm but well-integrated, the texture is velvety, the freshness supports the structure, and the finish stretches elegantly.

Typical of Canon-Fronsac, this wine combines the power of hillside wines with a certain finesse, a balance between strength and subtlety, making it a wine for aging while allowing for expressive drinking after a few years.

Perched on the prestigious slopes of Canon-Fronsac, Château Canon is distinguished by its rich clay-limestone terroir, benefiting from excellent exposure and a temperate microclimate that promotes optimal grape ripening.

Planted primarily with Merlot, with a complementary portion of Cabernet Franc (or even small additions of Cabernet Sauvignon depending on the year), the estate produces generous reds with a strong character yet great elegance.
Yields are controlled, vinification is meticulous, and the long aging in barrels helps refine the tannins while respecting the fruit’s expression.
