The Grill offers a nose of ripe, almost jammy black fruits. On the palate, this Côtes du Roussillon from Mas Christine has a supple attack, with plenty of black fruits still present, giving it a smooth edge.
Created in the 19th century, Mas Cristine is located on the southern edge of the Côtes du Roussillon AOC. It boasts an ideal location overlooking the sea, surrounded by cork oaks. The soils are a mixture of schist, quartz, and red clay. Established since 1810, the estate boasts magnificent vines of Syrah, Grenache, Roussanne, Marsanne, and Muscat. Yields never exceed 30 hl/ha.
The color is dark but translucent garnet. The nose is refined and deep, with notes of candied red fruits (strawberry, raspberry), bay leaf, and pepper. The palate is slender, held together by an invisible thread, with a silky, enveloping texture, exuding ripe raspberry, bitter orange peel, pit, and spices. The finish is finely chewy, with licorice/spicy notes and noble bitters that prevent the alcohol from taking over.
