Second wine of Château Margaux, with aromas of red fruits, flowers and spices, with an elegant structure and a beautiful finesse. Excellent value for money, it has nothing to envy of several great first wines of Bordeaux.
A legendary Médoc château, one of the five Premier Grand Cru Classé according to the 1855 classification, located in the Margaux appellation. The terroir is underlain by impressive glacial alluvial gravel (4–11 m thick), providing exceptional drainage and a limestone depth that gives the wines elegance. The vineyard covers 262 ha, including 87 ha classified as Margaux, with a dominant Cabernet Sauvignon (75%), supplemented by Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. A small portion of Sauvignon Blanc is dedicated to Pavillon Blanc (dry). Annual production reaches around 150,000 bottles for the grand vin. Rich in history, the château regained its legend thanks to André Mentzelopoulos in the 1970s, then passed on to his daughter Corinne, the current owner.
