Les Forts de Latour is renowned for its elegance, strong tannic structure, and aging potential. It offers a powerful and distinguished style, blending notes of blackcurrant, graphite, and spices in a fine, deep structure.
Les Forts de Latour is the second wine of the prestigious Château Latour, Premier Grand Cru Classé from 1855, located in Pauillac on the left bank of the Gironde. This wine takes its name from a historic plot of land in the Enclos, the heart of the estate. Since 1966, it has been produced with the same rigor as the Grand Vin, benefiting from the same care in the vineyard and cellar. The blend varies according to the vintage, but generally includes a higher proportion of Merlot (25 to 30%) than the Grand Vin. Les Forts de Latour comes from three distinct areas: the perimeter of the Enclos, certain plots outside the estate, and more recently acquired plot islands. Aging takes place in new barrels (50 to 60%) for approximately 18 months, giving the wine an elegant tannic structure and good aging potential. This second wine reflects the excellence of the Pauillac terroir, offering a refined and powerful expression of Cabernet Sauvignon
