The 2016 Château La Mission Haut-Brion embodies the grandeur of an exceptional vintage and the mastery of a legendary estate.
This wine is all about balance and intensity.
The color is black, brilliant, and intense.
The nose is captivating, complex, and deep: blackcurrant, blackberry, and candied black cherry, enhanced by notes of blond tobacco, licorice, violet, graphite, and incense.
An almost mystical bouquet, reflecting the place.
On the palate, the texture is sumptuous: the attack is full-bodied and velvety, giving way to a fine yet powerful tannic structure.
The structure is of rare precision, with perfectly ripe fruit, remarkable internal freshness, and infinite length.
This 2016 is a model of harmony, blending density and lightness, generosity and restraint, with a persistent, noble, and distinguished finish.
A wine with great aging potential, capable of lasting for decades, but which already reveals a striking depth and brilliance today.
An absolute icon of Pessac-Léognan.
A symbol of excellence and depth, Château La Mission Haut-Brion is one of the jewels of Pessac-Léognan and the Bordeaux vineyards.
Located opposite the legendary Château Haut-Brion, it has also belonged to the Dillon family since 1983.
The estate is renowned for producing wines with a unique character, combining power, elegance, and spirituality, inherited from its history with Vincentian priests dating back to the 17th century.
The vineyard covers more than 25 hectares of deep gravel, mixed with clay and sand, in an exceptional terroir that promotes optimal drainage and perfect grape ripeness. This warm, poor, and well-exposed soil is the secret to the intensity and depth that characterize the great wines of La Mission.
Under the direction of Prince Robert of Luxembourg and with exemplary oenological rigor, the estate combines high precision, sustainable organic farming, and careful aging in new barrels.
Each vintage is the expression of a distinct style: sensual, dense, but always refined.
