Planted on the estate’s coolest plots, Pinot Noir finds an unexpected expression here in Tuscany. This delicate red wine, with its light ruby color, reveals a fine nose of raspberry, cherry, dried rose, and sweet spices. On the palate, elegance is evident: supple tannins, beautiful acidity, and a subtly woody finish. This is a lacy red, full of finesse, which seduces with its precision and unique personality within the Antinori range.
In the heart of the green hills of Umbria, about twenty kilometers from Orvieto, stands the majestic Castello della Sala, owned by the Antinori family since 1940. Surrounded by 200 hectares of vineyards, this 14th-century medieval castle is the cradle of the great white wines of the Antinori house. Situated at an altitude of 400 to 500 meters, the vineyard benefits from a cool climate with pronounced nights and clay-limestone soils rich in marine fossils—ideal conditions for producing wines that are elegant, complex, and naturally fresh.
The Castello della Sala estate embodies the harmonious blend of ancestral tradition and oenological innovation, with particular attention paid to noble grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Grechetto, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir. Each wine expresses the uniqueness of this discreet yet highly noble Umbrian terroir.
