Immediate freshness and guaranteed pleasure for this entry-level cuvée. A vibrant nose of white peach, lime, and a hint of fine herbs. On the palate, the liveliness of the Verdejo grape combines with the roundness of a subtle complement, offering a very digestible balance. A clean, mouth-watering finish, ideal as an aperitif or with simple dishes of green vegetables and grilled fish. An excellent introduction to the Telmo style, accessible while remaining high-quality.
Telmo Rodríguez is considered one of Spain’s most influential and respected winemakers. Originally from the Basque Country, he trained at the Bordeaux Institute of Oenology, then with great names such as Cos d’Estournel, Jean-Louis Chave, and Domaine de Trévallon. Returning to Spain, he began vinifying wines at the Remelluri family estate in Rioja before founding his own winery in 1994 with a clear vision: to revive the often-overlooked great Spanish terroirs.
Instead of following the industrial route, Telmo chose to work with native grape varieties (such as Verdejo, Mencia, Garnacha, Godello, and Moscatel) and old vines cultivated in goblet form using traditional methods. He rejects trellised plantings and favors living soils, often cultivated organically or biodynamically, without claiming it as a marketing ploy. What matters above all is the balance, freshness, and sincerity of the wine.
Today, he produces in more than ten regions, from Galicia to Andalusia: Rueda, Valdeorras, Ribera del Duero, Málaga, Alicante, Cebreros, and Castilla y León. Each wine reflects the identity of a place, a climate, and a grape variety—always in a pure, precise style deeply rooted in the local culture. The vintages range from accessible and digestible bottles to truly great wines for aging, all characterized by great precision.
At Telmo Rodríguez, wine is a story of place, respect, and elegance.
