This vintage comes from old vines that produce a more structured and deep Cabernet Franc. The nose reveals notes of ripe black fruits, violet, sweet spices, and a beautiful mineral touch. On the palate, the body is denser, with silky tannins and a long, harmonious finish. The wine retains the estate’s typical freshness, but with added complexity. Decant in its youth or leave in the cellar for a few years. Excellent with duck breast, stewed meat, or autumn dishes. A great organic wine, elegant and distinguished.
Domaine Paul Filliatreau is a historic reference in the Saumur-Champigny appellation. Located in Chaintres, near Saumur, it has been farmed organically for many years, with a strong commitment to biodiversity and respect for the soil. The main grape variety here is Cabernet Franc, worked with finesse and lightness to express all the freshness of the Loire Valley. The estate offers a range of sincere, fruity, digestible, and very accessible wines, without ever sacrificing depth. The Filliatreau style is distinguished by its purity, drinkability, and elegance, even in the most concentrated vintages. A free-spirited, committed, and forward-looking estate.
